“ I have been wanting to eat here for a while, and I finally got the chance since we were in Germantown (we live an hour and half away). The decor of the restaurant is very nice. I found the chandelier at the entrance a bit out of place with the rest of the restaurant, but hey, I am not an interior decorator lol. I came to eat here on March 13 with my wife and we were not disappointed. The server, whose name starts with J, but as I am posting this a little late I do not remember his name, greeted us promptly and told us to have a seat of our choosing. Very nice tall guy and very attentive. I ordered the 3 piece (2 breast and a wing) with a side of Mac and cheese. My wife had the 3 piece tenders. I got the fried green tomatoes as the app. The breading on the fried green tomatoes could use some more seasoning, as they lacked a little in flavor, but they were still good. The BEST part of this meal was the chicken Y'all when I tell you this is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Extremely tender and juicy. Not dry or chewy in any part of my three piece. And the seasoning they had on the breading of the chicken. I still think about it. My wife's tenders were tender and juicy as well, but the breast piece was the best. The slaw and baked beans that came as sides were a little on the sweeter side for my taste, but that is definitely some good Mac and cheese. Not overly cooked and real cheese. Not just smothered in some cheese sauce. And the pie yall.we got a slice aloft sweet potato pie and it did not disappoint. Perfect balance of sweet and spices, and the crust was perfect as well. Will definitely be back because I overheard someone say they got spicy as well and I think I just ordered the regular because I didn't see that option on the menu. The staff was nice and friendly. Definitely look forward to eating here again. ”
“ Still prepared like the original in Mason TN so don’t be in a hurry and you will wait for the chicken to cool down before you touch it. Perfect Cole slaw to go with Spicy chicken. Just creamy enough. Save room for the pecan pie. ”
“ If you're in Bartlett and craving some delicious comfort food, Gus Famous Chicken is a must-visit! I recently stopped by for lunch after showing a house for clients in the bartlett, Tn area, and I was thoroughly impressed with their offerings. The chicken is truly the star of the menu—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it’s seasoned to perfection, making every bite a delight. The fish is equally impressive, with a light batter that complements the flaky, tender meat. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a quick lunch break. The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring that you get your meal without a long wait. Overall, if you’re looking for hearty, satisfying meals that hit the spot, Gus Famous Chicken is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone in the area! ”
“ Great service and delicious chicken. The employees were very friendly and my food came out quickly. The chicken was so fresh I had to let it cool off before I could eat it. Definitely an outstanding place for fantastic fried chicken! ”
“ The chicken is Good! Everything fried is good here... tomato, okra, pickles, chicken, etc... The servers were on point! Brooklyn was my waitress 2day and rolled out that Southern Hospitality... it was our first time and we will be back! ”
“ The food is really good! It was my first time going and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is decorated nicely with a homey, comfortable feel to it. I really enjoyed the meal that I got. Be advised that everything they fry is fried in peanut oil, so if you have an allergy, stick to the sides such as the baked beans, green beans, mac & cheese, and slaw. Everything was seasoned well, and DELICIOUS. I also enjoyed reading the story of the origin of the restaurant that was posted on the wall. ”
“ Great chicken, a little spice in the mix for the chicken batter which I liked. They had beer available and the portions were good sized. Place was clean and the people were friendly. They also had pie. I sampled the pecan pie and it was very good. ”
“ Talk about hospitality! These folks really make you feel like you are part of the family. For being a chain restaurant, the food was really good, I thought it would be like a KFC, or a Popeyes, but this blew those spots out of the water. If you ever come across this spot during your travels, it's a must! My favorite was the Fried Green Tomatoes, soooo yummy, and you gotta eat it at the restaurant while it's still crunchy and hot. ”
